Runner's Edge of the Rockies

Clif Miskell

Member of Runner's Edge since:
June 2006

Occupation:
Securities Regulation

Hometown:
Rensselaer, Indiana

Why I run:
It's the time that I'm able to clear my mind, reduce stress and do something good for my health. And finishing a race always gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Hobbies (other than running):
I read a lot (newspapers, magazines and books) which doesn't leave much time for anything else. I enjoy photography but don't do it as much as I'd like.

Favorite place to run:
Brush Creek in Eagle, CO

Favorite race:
The Beaver Creek snowshoe series. It's difficult, but a nice change of pace and a great workout.

Favorite shoe:
Brooks Addiction

Most embarrassing running moment:
Opening the door of a porta-pottie during a race and scaring the hell out of the woman inside. I'm not sure which one of us was more embarrassed and flustered.

Favorite post-run indulgence:
Hamburger and French Fries

Where I keep my medals:
On my dresser in the order of the races run.

If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
The Beatles. It would be great to talk to them about their music.

My biggest fan(s):
My brother John. He talked me into running my first marathon and he was at the last one cheering me on.

Favorite Runner's Edge Moment:
Too soon to tell. But I can say it's great to do long runs and speed work with other people.

I bet you didn't know:
I entered the Stockholm Marathon not only to run it, but to go to see Bruce Springsteen concerts in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The race sucked, the concerts made the trip worth while.
