Jim Lynch
Member of Runner's Edge since:
May 2006
Occupation:
Cable Television Industry (own our business)
Hometown:
Erie, PA
Why I run:
Inspiration, goal attainment, friendships, self-competition, self-fulfillment and most important, health.
Hobbies (other than running):
Shooting and editing Video, making DVDs of travels, vacations, family and friends
Favorite place to run:
Cherry Creek Trail between Monaco and the Cherry Creek Dam since it's close to my house. However, in Runners Edge I am finding many more places around Denver I enjoy.
Favorite race:
St. George, UT Marathon (Very scenic and extremely well-organized)
Favorite shoe:
Asics, Gel Kayano
Most embarrassing running moment:
Forgetting my running shorts and so desperate to run that day I did 7 miles in my underwear. Yup, a few horns honked.
Favorite post-run indulgence:
Diet Pepsi/ Reese Cups
Where I keep my medals:
I have a wall in the basement that all of them hang on. I used two curtain rods with black background to accent them (yes, my wife helped quite a bit!). I also have framed marathon posters and pictures
If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
Tiger Woods though I don't golf much, I find him to be very inspirational. Also, my mother who I lost when I was young. I would need to do an ultra, ultra run to catch her up on what has been going on over the past 31 years.
My biggest fan(s):
My wife, Debbie, and Jaxon, my Jack Russell.
Favorite Runner's Edge Moment:
Not really a specific moment but enjoy the discovery of all the new running routes which makes me feel as if I'm on a tour of the Denver area each week.
I bet you didn't know:
Made a commitment with a friend in November of 1998 after the New York City Marathon to run a marathon in every state. This October, 2006, we will reach that goal in Newport, Rhode Island. I'll have finished all 50 states (certified), and DC for a final total of 65 marathons.
