Runner's Edge of the Rockies

Suzanne Johnson

Member of Runner's Edge since:
June 1, 2003

Occupation:
Product Marketing Manager

Hometown:
I grew up in Tucson, Arizona

Why I run:
To be outside, to relieve stress, to stay in shape, to be with my friends!

Hobbies (other than running):
Laughing, snowshoeing, biking, reading, updating the Runner's Edge website, traveling, art (creating it and seeing it)... so much to see and do, I hate to miss anything.

Favorite place to run:
In Denver I love the Matthews Winters trail near Red Rocks but my favorite cities to run in are: London, Ottawa, and Sydney.

Favorite race:
My favorite Denver races are the ACLU Liberty 4 Mile on the 4th of July and the Turkey Trot. My favorite marathon was Chicago.

Favorite shoe:
I have a fabulous pair of brown boots that I love to wear, they make my legs look long (go on, picture it)!

Most embarrassing running moment:
Knowing that you're all reading this profile.

Favorite post-run indulgence:
A pint and ice cream (but not together).

Where I keep my medals:
They're in the basement somewhere... I've been thinking that they might make good Christmas tree decorations if I take the ribbons off.

If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
Joan Benoit Samuelson, winner of the first women's Olympic marathon. Or maybe Pheobe from Friends, she has great running form and it's a good reminder to keep running fun.

Favorite Runner's Edge Moment:
The first 20 miler I ever ran. It was a tough hilly course to the top of a bluff south of pretty much everything. I knew if I could do that I could run a marathon.

My biggest fan(s):
All my friends at Runner's Edge.

I bet you didn't know:
I like to rock out in the car so I keep a plastic microphone there for when the singing moment takes me!
