Sharon Freeman
Member of Runner's Edge since:
March 2005
Occupation:
IT for Jeppesen
Hometown:
Fulda, MN (small farm town of 1200 folks)
Why I run:
To keep in shape
Hobbies (other than running):
Hiking, tennis, racquetball.
Favorite place to run:
Vail - I love the crisp cool mornings there, the scenery is amazing and you can run from Vail to Beaver Creek on the trails.
Favorite race:
My second marathon up at Boyd Lake, November 2005. During my first I was injured and still ran it (and really got injured.) But at The Heart of the Rockies in Loveland, this was my 1st real injury free marathon and it went so fast and I realized how wonderful it was to run healthy and I enjoyed it so much.
Favorite shoe:
I've been running in the Addias Adistar. I supinate and have high arches and I really like these shoes.
Most embarrassing running moment:
At the last 1/2 mile of the Sonoma 1/2 marathon, I saw the finish line and started to tear up like a big baby and there is a picture of me crossing the finish line with my lower lip sticking out like a pouting 5 year old crying baby. (it was more emotional in a good way to finish your first big race).
Favorite post-run indulgence:
There is nothing better than a Chipolte burrito at lunch after a long hard Saturday run.
Where I keep my medals:
In my closet by my jewelry. Plan to show them more at my office in my new house.
If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
My sisters. They don't run, but it would be nice if they did (and if they lived out here).
My biggest fan(s):
My fiance David - he has been at every race, buys me running gear, and makes sure I have my rest and no stress before a marathon - he's the best support.
Favorite Runner's Edge Moment:
Laughing for about 4-5 miles after Dave Lowry ran into a tree bush on a Saturday training run as well as running into traffic (I know, not funny). I kept laughing which made the run go much faster -thanks Dave.
I bet you didn't know:
I started out my career as a TV news anchor/reporter for a small NBC affiliate in South Dakota.
