Tonia Finch
Member of Runner's Edge since:
Summer/Fall Session 2006
Occupation:
Relationship Associate (translates into I kiss a lot of butt!)
Hometown:
Rockford, IL... armpit of the nation
Why I run:
Is it the way I feel after a run or because it allows me to indulge in a nice glass of wine and good food...toss up, I can't pick one. Oh, and I get to run with my favorite running partner, Thomas.
Hobbies (other than running):
ERRR... my pumpkin head dog, Chance. For other hobbies ask me again in December of 2007 when my grad degree is done.
Favorite place to run:
Flume Zoom Loop in the Experimental Forest in Winter Park, CO (use to be one of my daily runs when I trained for Chicago in 2000)
Favorite race:
Chicago... the crowds ROCKS!
Favorite shoe:
Saucony--my Foot God... strayed once, never again.
Most embarrassing running moment:
I am sure in time I will have a better one. Currently, it is always catching up to the Tuesday night group warm up run...always just a few minutes late!
Favorite post-run indulgence:
Tommy's Thai Chicken Panang with 2 glasses of wine! Thank GAWD for Tuesday Night Hell Night speed Trainings...cuz every Tuesday, I am eating a little Tommy's...
Where I keep my medals:
Currently, I have 2 medals on my favorite bookcase
If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
I would love to name someone profound but in reality I would do anything to run with my dog Mason again, he passed away 3 years ago at 4 1/2 years of age-he loved Flume Zoom.
My biggest fan(s):
I will take any one who asks what mileage I did... people on the Saturday and Tuesday runs cheering me on!
Favorite Runner's Edge Moment:
Thomas and I seeing improvement with runs...Shaving 10 minutes off of our first 12 with the group and then shaving 20 plus minutes off of our very first 10 with the group. Yea, we felt like ROCKSTARS!
I bet you didn't know:
I stayed in villages in Northern Thailand for 2 months teaching English and helped create a marketing plan for a national park.
