Tinka Crosby
Member of Runner's Edge since:
January 2006
Occupation:
Evaluation Coordinator at the University of Denver
Hometown:
South Pasadena, California
Why I run:
To burn off some energy. So I can eat M & M's.
Hobbies (other than running):
Learning Spanish, cooking, movies
Favorite place to run:
In Denver: the Highline Canal. In the world: through Golden Gate Park onto the beach in San Francisco
Favorite race:
St. George Marathon because the whole town comes out for it and because it is downhill so you can get a P.R.
Favorite shoe:
New Balance 856
Most embarrassing running moment:
Well this isn't really embarrassing, more stupid, I was running and this big dog came running out of nowhere barking his head off. I was thinking he was going to eat me when this car drove up and the guy inside said "Get in." Without even thinking I got in the car then thought to myself, "Well now I really am dead", but the guy drove me around the block and dropped me off and I am still alive.
But my daughter says my most embarrassing moment is when I tripped her during the Bolder Boulder.
Favorite post-run indulgence:
Beer. Or raisin toast with peanut butter, bananas, a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Where I keep my medals:
On a hook in the closet.
If I could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, it would be:
My mom - she was a marathoner but she can't run anymore.
My biggest fan(s):
My husband Gary
I bet you didn't know:
I have been running since 1973.
