Some great quotes from our runners...

David & Julie,
I just wanted to thank you guys for a great spring training session. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into it. It really pays off for all of us runners. I know I would not have been able to do it on my own. The training binders and schedules are great, but it is the personal attention that you gave me this past session that really helped. I struggled a bit during the session with nutrition issues and injuries but with the support of you and my fellow runners I hung in there. I ran Steamboat yesterday and had a great race. I even knocked a few minutes off of my previous PR. Thanks again for everything.

David and Julie,
I wanted to get this to you at some point to say thanks for all thehard work you've put into the group. We've really enjoyed the training and most especially enjoyed the wonderful people/training buddies/friends that we've met through the group. I know you've heard me mention the improvements that Kristi and I have seen in our racing but I wanted to give you thenumbers to back it up.

I set new PRs in each distance of triathlon that I raced this year including my fastest 10k ever at the end of the Chicago Triathlon. I credit alot of the improvements to the structured run training and speed sessions: 7min off my Olympic time (5 of that on the run) and 63min off my 1/2 Ironman time (60 of that by being ABLE to run) really show how much solid training can do and how much run-specific training can still help in triathlons.

Kristi took over 6 minutes off her 1/2 Marathon best going under 2hrs for the first time ever at Georgetown to Idaho Springs. Then comes the big goal of the year - Twin Cities Marathon - where in hot conditions the training and pacing paid off with a 36minute PR! We were so excited to have a marathon go so well and it really left us flying on cloud nine for at least a week. Now we're already picking out the next race, and looking to you guys and the group of Runners Edge runners to bring another PR our way in the spring

David and Julie,
I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you both! Becoming a member of Runner's Edge was the BEST thing I have ever done for my marathon running! Not only was running with the group great, but the training regime left me well prepared for my race. Further, a week before the race I sat down and read, and then re-read (many times) your pacing strategy for the race. You know what? It really worked!!!

We could thank you six million times over and it would not be enough! Your training plan, tips, and pace charts created a great recipe for having both a fun and rewarding marathon! Colin and I both ran PRs in Chicago (3:28.34 and 4:00.05, respectively). Since we are both 44, and at the edge of the next older age group, we both (I can't believe I 'm about to write this next part of the sentence...) qualified for the2008 Boston Marathon. A runner's dream that we never imagined as a reality for ourselves. I guess you guys are stuck with us for at least the next year and a half! See you in a few weeks for the winter session.

David and Julie,
Dave and Julie, you are exceptional. I've never imaginedwhen I first joined that I could have had so much fun and success with Runners Edge of the Rockies. Between theinsanely helpful info in the running binders, the personalizedtraining schedules, the group training tips, the varied runlocations, the killer support on the training runs, and theindividual advice, I'd recommend Runner's Edge to anyonewho has not trained with a group, as well as very seasonedrunners who have trained with a group that they arenot satisfied with. I have found a sense of renewal and purposeto my running, and through your help, a degree of success Icould not have imagined a year ago. I often tell my non-runningfriends that Runner's Edge is not a bunch of fanatical, singletracked, collection of running snobs - quite the contrary, it's a great group ofvaried pace-group individuals and probably the most normalbunch of men and women as I've met in a very long time.My goal is not only to make it to Boston with your help, butto continue and enhance my friendships with the many finerunners in the group. That, and to try and channel Elvis morewhen I get in the zone.

David and Julie,
I am very high on the great run today in Boulder. Felt great but most of all want to thank you for setting up the course, marking it well and having all the fluids available to us. All we need to worry about is getting from mile to mile. It truly is incredible the support you provide, giving us runners the freedom to focus on our run.

This also includes the work you put into Tuesday nights. Though they can be tough, it works...

David and Julie,
I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful training/coaching you both provided for the latest training session. I can only imagine the amount of time you each put into the running club. You do such a fantastic job, and so your time is greatly appreciated. My guess is that you don't get thanked enough for your hard work.

When I joined Runners Edge of the Rockies in January, never did I imagine I would actually enjoy it so much! This was my first experience in a group, and I must say I look forward to every Saturday now. Not only are the runs a great training experience, but they are fun!

As for the Colfax race, I just wanted to finish, and I did so in the amount of time I thought I would. I estimated 2:30:00, and I was right there at 2:29:00. Just finishing it was my goal, with no time limit. I would not have been there without your support and encouragement. Thank you so much! I now know what to expect, and will be able to aim for a better time for my next scheduled race, which is in October. I look forward to running with the group during the summer and fall.

Thanks again for everything! You two are very dedicated individuals who are doing a fantastic job for runners in Denver.

D&J:
What an awesome race!!! I can't thank you guys enough for all that you have taught me over the last couple of years! I was sooooo grateful that you made us run those tough hilly runs in preparation for Boston. I felt so strong and confident the entire race. I really am a true believer of starting out slow and finishing strong. Needless to say, I passed a lot of people on the hills. In fact, from mile 16 to 21 there were only a handful of people that passed me. I am very pleased, thank you!!!

Just know that I am living proof that your training method works! Thanks again!

Just wanted to say thank you. I am so excited to have found this group. I really dove into the binder this weekend and learned a ton. Running has become a fun challenge again instead of something I was just doing because I thought I 'had to'. Your energy, efforts and enthusiasm are motivating and appreciated. Looking forward to the season ahead!

I spent about a year looking for the right people and environment to improve and educate myself in the world of running. I was getting injured and was not approaching my training with information or support I needed. After joining Runner's Edge of the Rockies I exceeded my marathon goals, made some great friends, competed injury free and gained confidence that I never would have gotten on my own. This is a unique group of caring and supportive athletes. Coaches David and Julie are attentive and very knowledgeable. I recommend this group to any runner (social or competitive).

We have run with other good groups and programs, but Runner's Edge of the Rockies is the BEST! Runner's Edge is unique in having so many varied, excellent training routes, which are marked and have water/Gatorade stations. The group accommodates different skill levels and allows members to choose their own race to train for. The coaches go the extra "mile" to make Runner's Edge the best for everyone. We were surprised at the welcome new members get.

I wanted to thank you both for all that you have done for us/me. I couldn't have done it without your coaching and training tips this season. My time for the New York City Marathon was 4:04:00. I am on cloud nine. The marathon was so much more than what I ever expected. I cannot explain how I feel, but think I'm on top of the world. Again, a million thanks!
