Runner's Edge of the Rockies

PACE GROUP LEADER
3:50 RUNNERS
Stacey Barton

Stacey Barton's relationship with Runner's Edge goes all the way back to the winter of 2003. As one of our seasoned members, Stacey has joined the group every training session since, and is also a regular at Tuesday night speed training. Some may also know her as one of our famed aid station coordinators.

Focus and dedication are at the core of Stacey's approach to training. "I am very determined and goal oriented. I just really pay attention to what I am doing and try not to compete with others." This approach enabled her to set a PR by 28 minutes in 2006 at the Milwaukee Marathon, coming in at exactly 4 hours. Her consistent improvement lead Coach David to enlist her as the 3:50 Pace Group Leader.

Stacey's also a flexible runner and loves to run in the snow, noting it as her favorite Runner's Edge moments. Known by many as a chatterbox, those in the 3:50 group are never at a loss for fun conversation during their runs!

Professionally she just completed her 8th year of teaching, currently teaching 4th grade in Jeffco. Outside of running and work she is a hiker and loves to chill with her husband and their dogs.
